Watching Bruno with sis and her boyfriend. Yeah weird but it's cool. Tonight was Pumpkinfest here in Keene NH. I carved a Jared Leto pumpkin and it was one of over 20000 pumpkins. Kick ass.
So lately I've been really pumped for the 30 seconds to mars show in November. I can't wait:)
my favorite band lately however is Burn Halo. They're rock metal with a sound similar to A7X. You should definitely check them out. I've seen them live and they kick ass so please find them online get tickets for a show. You won't regret it.
Peace :)
Just a little blog where I take videos, photos, and news/info for all bands and artists in rock, alt rock, metal, alt metal, heavy metal, screamo/emo rock and metal, punk rock, and some in between genres and I bring them all together in a giant electrical mash up I call the Live Wire.

New laptop..no radio
Well I was really excited about the radio thing but realized I have no time this semester so I'd rather just be the listener. I love that job.
For some reason there has been one song in my head for the past few days. I listen to it constantly and I never get sick of it. Here it is ladies and gents, Not Falling by Mudvayne. It makes me want to break things and scream at people. Any song that can do that to me is a good song.
I saw them live and if you have never seen them live yourself then I highly suggest doing so. You will be astounded.
Short blog for now. I'm in the middle of setting up my new laptop and transfering files, mostly music so it'll take a while.
I'm updating a few things on my blog, a couple lists are in the making so keep an eye out for them.
peace...

Ahhhh the VMA's....
So last night, Sept. 12th, the 2010 VMA's took place in Los Angeles. A few things happened that were funny or stupid or amazing.
-30 Seconds to Mars arrived in style on the white carpet on bikes followed by fans on bikes.
-Rihanna made a surprise appearance with Eminem.
-Taylor Swift performed a song about Kanye West, basically saying who's the little kid now bitch?! But instead of angry music she made it sweet and full of soft vocals, since it was almost an i forgive you kind of thing. In return Kanye performed a song aimed at Taylor but never comfirmed it was about her.
-Lady Gaga took home a ton of awards, none of which I think she really deserved other than dance I guess.
-Linkin Park performed and it was incredible.
That was all I really got out of the show...
Bands I've been really into lately:
Bullet for My Valentine
Burn Halo
30 Seconds to Mars
Flyleaf
HIM
Think I got a slot on the college radio. Who knows, I may have a cool show soon.

For starters...
Don't get me wrong I think all musicians deserve a chance to prove themselves. But there is a fine line between the actual music and the glam. My iPod consists of everything from Slipknot and Avenged Sevenfold to 30 Seconds to Mars and Three Days Grace. I've gone to rock and metal concerts since I was 12 or 13. So I have experience with mosh pits, head banging, and I own my share of band tees. I'm not an emo metal person. I think it's really pointless crap they put out there so I just try not to listen. This blog that I'm starting today is not to rant about how I dislike pop and r&b but to rant about how unfair it is for the untalented to get all the fame. It won't be easy but hey, nothing in the music biz is...

Ping! And other things...
So I've been extremely busy with typical college shit. But now that I'm settled in and in the college kid mode I can get back to the music!!!
This up coming weekend I'm looking into the college radio station, might get some kind of slot. Who knows...
So let me tell you my picks for the week, the songs I've been rocking out to lately.
Flyleaf-Swept Away
* Yeah it's a bit too "religious" for me I guess but that's no reason for not liking it. The lyric "time for surrender spread out your open hands" may sound really corny to some people but think outside the box. Musicians tend to make music that relates to more than one thing/topic/person. I think the sound holds some kind of power of it's own, it makes me wanna run around screaming the words for some reason. Not quite sure why. And the growl type scream thats about midway through the song is simply amazing.
Breaking Benjamin-I Will Not Bow
* Another really powerful song that makes me wanna yell I WILL NOT BOW! The song in few words is about not giving into anything without a hardcore fight. Good "pump up" song for running and excercise in general. The video is also pretty awesome, some crazy robot scenes from that movie (can't remember the name). But this is definitely high on my fav's list right now.
Our Lady Peace-In Repair
* We all know Our Lady Peace was really big a while back but I haven't forgotten them, neither should you! The voice, the drums, the...everything! My favorite song, In Repair is on my latest list. It makes me feel good, you know, we're all in repair. Like machines, we break, we need to be fixed. Bottom line, everyone can relate to this kick ass tune.
Be sure to check out PING! If you're an itunes kind of person check out Ping on the latest version. Ping=Music Community. simple as that.
I'll be back to update again asap!
Until then keep rockin!!!

The New Hampshire music scene...not so good
Since I moved to NH just weeks ago I've noticed something. People here have no taste in music! My god it's like everyone is tone deaf. Now I see why good bands aren't created in New England. However if you are a typical wanna be cool college kid who's into ska and crap like that then its a good place to be.
Well my fav song today is Closer to the Edge by 30 Seconds to Mars.
Listen. Rock it. Love it.
Peace

So let's see....
Today the most common pop stars I saw on tv today were Lady Gaga, Justin Beiber, and Katy Perry. Personally I don't care about any of them, I think they're only in the business for the nice clothes and the thought that their faces get plastered all over the world. Not my idea of "music".
It's not everyday a band makes an album in which the fans voices and battle cries are heard in every song, or has fans faces plastered on every album in the world, all while dealing with a pretty hefty lawsuit. But 30 Seconds to Mars did it and after one large successful tour they are doing another round of national shows right now.
My point is, the music world needs to open their eyes a little more. See the great bands who are right here right now.
So to start off my top picks. I'm only going to let you know one right now because I'm pretty tired and this band, song, and video kicks ass.
Just months ago Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan was found dead in his home. The Rev was the drummer for the rock/metal band Avenged Sevenfold. A couple years ago I was lucky enough to see them in concert and the power that man created was phenomenal. The whole room changed when he started the song. After he died the band decided not to change the new album because The Rev had put a lot of ideas and work into the album and they felt it wouldn't be the same changing it. When the first single, Nightmare, was released just weeks ago fans went crazy with all the music video teasers only 30 seconds long. The video finally came out and when i saw it I kept saying to myself, who's the new drummer? Why aren't they showing the drummer? The video takes us through a mental hospital full of psychotic patients including band members hitting their heads against walls and well, acting crazy as M. Shadows is rushed down the hall on a gurney. At the very end when I thuoght the drummer would never be seen and remain a mystery, I saw it. The very last image you see is the Rev's drum set, empty on a dimly lit stage. Since he had recorded the song with them they felt it was best to honor his work.
As far as new drummer goes, I've heard rumor of the drummer from Dreamtheater. I'll look into that ASAP.
Avenged Sevenfold- Nightmare
